Tattoos For Men - The Best Tattoo Ideas For men

As a layman, I find that the tattoos for men that I see usually depict a character trait that we generally associate with men. These include, but are not limited to:  masculinity, strength, courage, reflexes etc. However this is not a rule of thumb and many men actually like depicting things like oceans, clouds, rain, sceneries, flowers, butterflies etc on their bodies.

Here are some of the best tattoos for men in my opinion:

  • Tribal tattoos: Are those which were used by ancient tribes and clans to identify and differentiate their clan members. They are still used by aborigines and “real tribal people” even today. These mainly consist of bold and thick lines usually on the shoulder, face, chest and legs. Such tattoos make use of dark colors and are comparatively easier to inscribe than other complex designs. These types of tattoos are favored by many men today, simply because of the fact they exude a feeling of boldness and strength.  Some of these however, are intricate and complex like the Hawaiian and Polynesian tattoo designs.
  • Zodiac tattoos: Are also very popular. Showing off your Zodiac sign (not necessarily your own) on appropriate places like the chest or the back is also preferred by many men. These are not limited to the twelve normally used Zodiac signs. Chinese Zodiac and its related symbols, horoscope symbols etc are also becoming very popular. The scripts for the Zodiac’s that were written in ancient texts too can be re-written as tattoos on your body.
  • Animal and bird based tattoos: These include but are not limited to Snakes, Lions, Tigers, Dragons (both European and Chinese), Vultures, Eagles, Falcons, Kingfishers etc. The natural strength, speed and majestic nature of such animals are usually depicted in such tattoos. Many people also depict more than one of these creatures on different parts of their body.
  • Script based tattoos: Writing a foreign script in a stylized way too is becoming popular. Quoting lines or words from ancient texts is the preferred way to go. Chinese, Sanskrit, Japanese etc are the preferred languages of writing.
  • The others: Tattoo inscription is an art form. Which simply means that it is not restricted the categories described above. I have only listed the popular ones. These are, in my opinion, are the best types of tattoos for men.  Having said that, there are innumerable permutations and combinations possible and often it is very hard to categorize a particular tattoo structure into any of these categories.

To sum it up, the choice of the best tattoo for any particular man is only limited by that man’s personal preferences and imagination.
