Free Tattoo Designs To Print

Many people do not want to look at the tattoo design catalogue that the local tattoo artist provides. Most probably, the design you want, may not be featured there. This then raises the question:  How can we find the “best free tattoo designs to print” that suit us?
The answer to this question is both easy and hard at the same time. Searching the internet for royalty free photos of tattoos is the way to go. The wide variety of designs featured on various websites will only make it even harder for you to choose your perfect design. Searching the internet for works released as free to share and modify are the safest bets. Many artistes release a few samples of their work for free, simply to boost the popularity of their store or website.

Another way of course is to use the image search features that various search engines provide. This method is probably the best way of getting new ideas for your tattoo designs. Bear in mind though that not all of the results will be royalty free and reproduction of such images may amount to violation of copyrights.
As a general rule of thumb, most of the simple tattoo designs are usually free to print as they involve very little skill. You can then use your own ingenuity and skills to create a complex design yourself.

Here are a few websites that have free tattoo that can be printed (or are free to view):
1)      www.tribalshapes.com: As its name implies, this site specializes in providing tribal types of tattoos for free. As an added bonus this site also has a decent collection of Japanese Kanji symbols and phrases. Each type of tattoo is grouped by the body area on which they can be applied.
2)      www.tattoosbydesign.com: Another good site that hosts a decent collection of free tattoos of varying sizes. The tattoos on this site are grouped by design and can be freely viewed.
Unlike some other sites, the above mentioned sites do not require you to register to view their full catalogue. If you want to contribute to these sites however, you must first become a member. There is an unspoken rule in the tattooing industry that dictates that an artist should create his/her own design. Blindly copying the work of others is not considered a good practice. You may however use design elements from any of the tattoo designs available to you as you like. To sum up the best free tattoo designs to print are usually the design elements that make up a larger and complex tattoo.

Baseball Tattoos - Read This Now While It's Not To Late

Sporting tattoos are a great way to show your love for the game. Just like when choosing any other tattoo design, a baseball tattoo should be chosen in such a way that it suits you and your personal sporting preferences in the game. Don’t choose a particular type of tattoo just because some hard-core baseball fan has inscribed it on his body. Your tattoo should be chosen by you only.

Here are some cool ideas to help you get started on what sort of baseball themed tattoo you can adorn on your body and the purposes that these tattoos will serve:

Tattoo about your favorite team:  Be it the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds or Texas Rangers if you want to show everybody how much you love your favorite team, inscribe a tattoo whose theme is based on your favorite team.  For Ex: you can adorn a tattoo of a ranger’s hat (Texas Rangers) or a tiger based tattoo (Detroit Tigers) to support these teams.  You may also inscribe a quote from these players or the general motto of the team on the appropriate places. The team’s mascot is another object which can be used in tattoo designs.

Tattoo based on the team’s home ground: Every baseball stadium and its governing body have a rich history of great players and home grown cultures and trends. Some stadiums have a distinctive design and/or are a tourist destination in themselves. A tattoo sporting your favorite stadium or your teams home ground or something that depicts its culture is a great way to show your love for the stadium and its culture.

Baseball equipment tattoos: A simple bat or ball or the gloves and other gear can be used as abstract art forms in themselves.

Baseball tattoos featuring portraits of the players: Your favorite player’s portrait on an appropriate place on your body, what more does player want from a die-hard fan?

Love for the game: All of the rest including the ones mentioned above can be clubbed here. If you are inscribing a baseball themed tattoo, you already love the game.

These are just a sample of the wide varieties of options available to fans. Like every art form, this too is limited by your own imagination. As most probably, you would be sporting your tattoos in public or on live TV (chances are), care should be taken that proper standards of decency are maintained.

Tattoo Me Now: How To Find The Best Tattoo Ideas

Tattoo Me Now: How To Find The Best Tattoo Ideas

Tattoos For Men - The Best Tattoo Ideas For men

As a layman, I find that the tattoos for men that I see usually depict a character trait that we generally associate with men. These include, but are not limited to:  masculinity, strength, courage, reflexes etc. However this is not a rule of thumb and many men actually like depicting things like oceans, clouds, rain, sceneries, flowers, butterflies etc on their bodies.

Here are some of the best tattoos for men in my opinion:

  • Tribal tattoos: Are those which were used by ancient tribes and clans to identify and differentiate their clan members. They are still used by aborigines and “real tribal people” even today. These mainly consist of bold and thick lines usually on the shoulder, face, chest and legs. Such tattoos make use of dark colors and are comparatively easier to inscribe than other complex designs. These types of tattoos are favored by many men today, simply because of the fact they exude a feeling of boldness and strength.  Some of these however, are intricate and complex like the Hawaiian and Polynesian tattoo designs.
  • Zodiac tattoos: Are also very popular. Showing off your Zodiac sign (not necessarily your own) on appropriate places like the chest or the back is also preferred by many men. These are not limited to the twelve normally used Zodiac signs. Chinese Zodiac and its related symbols, horoscope symbols etc are also becoming very popular. The scripts for the Zodiac’s that were written in ancient texts too can be re-written as tattoos on your body.
  • Animal and bird based tattoos: These include but are not limited to Snakes, Lions, Tigers, Dragons (both European and Chinese), Vultures, Eagles, Falcons, Kingfishers etc. The natural strength, speed and majestic nature of such animals are usually depicted in such tattoos. Many people also depict more than one of these creatures on different parts of their body.
  • Script based tattoos: Writing a foreign script in a stylized way too is becoming popular. Quoting lines or words from ancient texts is the preferred way to go. Chinese, Sanskrit, Japanese etc are the preferred languages of writing.
  • The others: Tattoo inscription is an art form. Which simply means that it is not restricted the categories described above. I have only listed the popular ones. These are, in my opinion, are the best types of tattoos for men.  Having said that, there are innumerable permutations and combinations possible and often it is very hard to categorize a particular tattoo structure into any of these categories.

To sum it up, the choice of the best tattoo for any particular man is only limited by that man’s personal preferences and imagination.

How To Find The Best Tattoo Ideas

Everyone has his own idea of how much of his/her body should be tattooed. Some people prefer full body tattoos, while some would prefer a simple design on their wrists. But before going any further into any tattoo ideas here are a few practical tips to follow when planning to inscribe a tattoo on any part of your body:

1)      Excess of anything is bad: A full face tattoo won’t be liked by your current/future or potential employers and also by most of you friends and family members. The same thing applies to a full body tattoo (of course).

2)      A tattoo once inscribed is practically permanent. Well, it can be removed, but the removal process is much more painful than the inscribing process. So many people opt out of it.

3)      Consult your dermatologist before tattooing yourself: Though skin allergies are rare, it is better to get yourself checked.

Now that we have said all that, here are a few tattoo ideas to get started with. Don’t just choose a tattoo just because it is inscribed on somebody else’s body. The best tattoo ideas are the ones which are personally tailored by you. Many people order various designs and mix and match them in their own way to better suit their body. Obviously a large number of changes are possible in the original design.

The best way to find tattoo ideas for you is to search on the internet. If you are looking for specific tattoos try typing in the name with the “tattoo” keyword   (say “butterfly tattoo”) in an image search engine. Another way is to look for sites that allow you to order printed copies of tattoo designs from various artists. Online tattoo galleries are also helpful, as these have well categorized and standardized content.

Your local tattoo shop too can give you good ideas provided you know what you really want on your body. Face to face communication with the tattooing artist can also help you to find the best tattoo ideas that suit you. Some people prefer the personal touch available in this method. An artist whom you know personally can also have a calming effect during the tattooing process.

To sum it up, the best tattoo ideas are usually the ones that are created/personalized by you. Merely copying somebody or some hot fashion trend will most probably lead to regrets later and an “I told you so” comment from some friend or family member.
